Sometimes nature surprises us with wonders we never expected!
Hey guys! Do you know there are thousands of people confused? Does aloe vera really bloom? While most of us are familiar with aloe vera as a skin-soothing and medicinal plant, but very few people know it blooms even indoors.
Confused? Why does my indoor/outdoor aloe don’t flower? Aloe vera blooming depends on its age and proper maintenance and care.
So here I explained when aloe vera plants bloom, the benefits of aloe vera flowers, and how you can get your aloe vera to flower.
Does aloe vera bloom? But when?
Yes, aloe vera blooms and produces really attractive flowers that I love a lot. And do you know what I experienced? Only mature aloe vera, which are 3-4 years old, bloom.
Aloe vera flowering also depends on its health and proper care. A mature aloe vera needs 6–8 hours of sunlight per day to bloom easily.
And did you know, as scientists say, aloe vera plants need 70°F to 85°F of temperature to stay healthy? And the healthy plants will exactly bloom too quickly.
These plants also need a little amount of water once a month in winter and once or twice every week in summer. If you care for them properly, they will make you happy with beautiful flowers in spring or early summer.
Here are some essential tips that will help you to flower your aloe vera plant too quickly.
How do you get your aloe vera flowers?
To get your aloe vera flower, you will need to grow it in the natural habitat that it needs.
Do you know that aloe vera grows in hot and dry climates; it doesn’t need as much water as other plants?
So here are the tips to bloom your aloe vera even indoors.
- First of all, make sure your aloe vera is mature and is almost 3-4 years old. Generally, younger plants won’t have enough energy to produce flowers.
- A mature aloe vera always needs at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight to make you happy with beautiful flowers. If you are growing your aloe vera inside your home, move it to the different rooms where sunlight is available. Or you can also use indoor grow lights to provide your plant with proper light.
- Guys, remember, aloe vera doesn’t bloom under low temperatures. So make sure to keep you aloe between 65°F to 85°F or (18°C-29°C) temperature. If your outdoor temperature is less than 55°F, keep your aloe plant indoors.
- Next, water your aloe plant minimally. Remember, this plant requires less water in the winter than in the summer. You can water it once a week in summer and once or twice a month in winter.
- Fertilize your aloe vera lightly during its growing season. Always use diluted (half strength) fertilizer, which really gives the best results. I personally use Liquid 10-40-10 mix fertilizer.
- Again, make sure to don’t keep your aloe vera in cold weather. It will not only harm your plant but also can kill it completely. And always grow your aloe vera in well-drained soil. Regular soil may make it unhealthy.
Now guys, let’s come to the spring and summer seasons. If your aloe plant is healthy, you will be happy with its great and catchy flowers.
