What you need to grow aloe.

To grow aloe vera plants, you will just need a pot, well-drained soil, and an aloe plant.

Materials Required To Grow Aloe Vera

Guys, remember, aloe vera grows in hot and dry climates. So make sure you choose a well-drained soil for its smooth growth. Excessive water or non-drained soil may harm its roots.

Aloe vera typically grows in hot and dry conditions in Africa. So this plant grows very well in soil both indoors and outdoors. It grows well in soil with optimal drainage because it is a succulent plant.

It is preferable to use well-draining or dry soil. Excessive water might cause its roots to rot.

How to plant aloe.

Planting aloe vera is an easier process than most people think. 

Here are some steps that will help you to grow aloe vera both indoors and outdoors. 

Planting outdoors.

Aloe vera is well in zones 10 to 12. It can be planted in warmer climates. Planting it outdoors makes sure the soil is well draining; just follow these steps and plant aloe vera.

  • Dig a hole outside twice as wide and dig  deep as the pot plant is in.
  • Place the plant in the hole and make sure the top side is outside from the hole.
  • Then fill the hole so the roots are in soil.

Planting indoors.

Aloe vera is a low-maintenance houseplant that can be grown all year around. Just take a pot and find well draining soil so the water evaporates easily. like cactus soil or other arid soils.

  • Fill the container half of the way.
  • Then place the plant in the center of the pot.
  • Then fill the plant roots.

Watering the plant.

Aloe vera thrives in the dry soil, and it can store water in its leaves. So it doesn’t need too much water for its growth. As a matter of fact, overwatering is the reason the aloe plants die.

Growing aloe indoors, water it in 1-2 weeks. If your aloe plant is outdoors and you think you should water it more often, you can water it every time the soil is dried out.

You can also stick your finger in the soil and check if the soil is dried to water the plant.

Light.

If your aloe plant is inside. The light where many people fail to grow aloe plants.

Aloe vera is a succulent plant that needs a minimum of six hours of direct sunlight every day. Without the sunlight, the aloe plant will stretch out and lose its attractiveness, and it will impact growth significantly.

Temperature

Aloe vera mostly grows in high temperatures. So it is mostly kept in the range of 55°F to 80°F (13°C to 27°C); ideally, it is good to keep it at room temperature or in mild outdoor climates.

If the temperature drops below 50°F (10°C), take it indoors to stop it from freezing. On cold days, it is preferred to place it in hot places for its optimal growth. Place it in indirect sunlight and warmth.

Fertilising.

Aloe plants don’t need much fertilizer. It can be fertilized once or twice before spring. It is enough to get through the year; more fertilizer can harm the plant. You can use houseplant fertilizer or a succulent cactus fertilizer.
